DESIGN AND NEWSWORTHINESS IN URBAN DEVELOPMENT
Discussion, lecture and workshop on Urban Studies
9-13 October 2013

As a part of its «Complete Cardboard» traineeship program «Made in Cardboardia» will host a set of open lectures and practical workshops dedicated to social and cultural development of modern city. Influence of the large scale interactive events and festivals on urban environment will be a focus topic for this set of events. The Activities will be conducted with the help and support of Erwin van Tuijl, invited expert in urban planning (the Netherlands).  

The project is arranged with the support of Russia – The Netherlands bilateral year of cooperation program. It is co-funded by the Netherlands Embassy in Moscow.

Participation is free, number of places is limited, preliminary registration required.

Workshop, Parade and Concert for everyone

Personages of Cardboardia and The Real Tuesday Weld (UK) are experimenting with dreams on the Day of the City of Moscow at the Museon Arts Park.

This time the Tyran of Cardboardia has issued an order for the cultivation of huge Cardboard Plantings. The Tyran said:  «Everything that emerges in the mind as a dream and is dreamed of must grow, ripe and flourish!». Thus, from September 3rd until September 7^th Personages of Cardboardia will launch a Mobile Biolab at the Museon Arts Park. The Mobile Lab will focus on ideas selection and image generation and work towards developing the proper technique to plant rational seeds. At the same time the Biolab employees will work on generating a variety of special mobile and perennial plants from cardboard. The main work will be based on the classical unstructured approach with the focus on the unconscious.

On September 7th, the Day of the City of Moscow, the Presentation Parade will be launched. The Parade will serve to make the environment more cardboard friendly and will be based on the lab experiments. Presentation will include extensive Trees Parade and Public Planting of Impressive Plants. The special dream consultants from UK, namely the «The Real Tuesday Weld» and personally the Ambassador of Cardboardia in the UK, Stephen Coates, will concentrate on the stimulation of fantasies and the feeding of dreams. They will present a unique cinema show and also will donate towards the collection of bio dreams for the Cardboardia Biolab.

Everyone is invited to take part in the upcoming Parade preparations together with the Personages of Cardboardia from September 3rd to September 6th at the Museon Arts Park. Participation is free. Number of places is limited.

We are pleased to announce that the enrollment to the "Complete Cardboard” design school on the basis of "Made in Cardboardia" workshop (madein.cardboardia.info) is now open!

Cardboardia offers an intensive “Experience exchange” training course for the participants from other cities, regions and countries. This course lasts for two weeks. During the course participants will have a possibility to work on the projects together with our designers. Applications for the intensive course are accepted on a competitive basis from those persons who will be especially liked by Tyran of Cardboardia (cardboardia.info). Participants from abroad are also welcomed to join Cardboardia!

Starting from September 2013 we will be offering two new courses:

1) "Special course for illustrators" - we invite artists to join us in order to learn together and to create beautiful dimensional and flat objects and compositions out of cardboard. We provide additional placements for temporary training. During the course illustrators might also complete several special tasks.

2) "Weekend Training" - we offer a new opportunity for those who have a possibility to come to the workshop only during the weekends. For the whole month, you will work on individual and collective creative tasks, learning to think and express yourself in cardboard in the form of short stories (no more than 10 slides). The program is open for everyone. You don’t need to have previous artistic experience to join.
